the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event.
What is Advent?
Advent begins the Sunday closest to November 30 and lasts for 4 Sundays leading up to Christmas. It is a time of great anticipation and waiting for the birth of Jesus. It is a season of remembering the precious gift of salvation we have in Jesus and the hope we have that He is coming back again.
Each Sunday during Advent, a candle is lit. The first candle symbolizes hope, the second symbolizes peace, the third symbolizes love, and the fourth symbolizes joy. The white candle in the middle is lit on Christmas Day and represents the birth of Jesus.
